YouTube Age Verification

I don't like this, I don't like this one bit. The way this is being implemented is terrible. They're doing it based on your searches and watch history! They're doing all of this to "protect kids" (read as: steal more information from their users). If they're doing it based off of search and watch history though, then the kids watching age-inappropriate/adult things will be flagged as adults and be fine while the adults who like kid-friendly stuff will get falsely flagged as teenagers/kids. Yeah, YouTube, great job at protecting the children. Governments and corporations sure like using us as scapegoats...

Either they are just dumb or this is the start of some kind of operation to enforce mass censorship based on some irrelevant stuff.

I remember at one point youtube had a thing where they said "you cant watch age restricted videos unless you give your ID or your debit card for verification that you're 18". I was like 13 or something like that, and because you can get debit cards at that age in the UK, it just let me through like nothing. It was a really stupid system lol

Here in the US, you have to be 18 to have one. YT is based in California, so they did not think that one through...
