What what typically goes into the process of making an animated video? Do you have scripts for it? Storyboards?

Do you just make the videos that pop into your head or do you actually sit down and try to come up with something?

Would love to know (:

Until kind of recently I only storyboarded the flashes before animating. They never needed any extra planning, the characters never talked. But now that i'm getting more ambitious with them, I write scripts now.

Ah cool!

It would be cool if you got popular one day and made a video dedicated to this subject (:

I actually made the clones in only two weeks, with absolutely none of it planned. I just started storyboarding, thought "hey thats a kind of good idea", and then animated it. I did the sound for it in the last 1 or 2 days, and I'm pretty sure it was uploaded less than an hour after my friend sent me the fight song for the ending. I've never turned around a cartoon that fast since then. I'd like to, but I always end up writing, storyboarding, and then I get bored with them, start doing something else, and the cycle repeats. At some point I'm going to go through the vaults and get some stuff finished though.

Here's a thought!
Post some of the storyboards that are somewhat complete, and try to get some ideas for them from the forums!
